A man from Franschhoek was literally caught with his pants down last week, when a prostitute escaped with his weapon after a business transaction.
The truck driver, en route from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town, stopped at Sonstraal Road near the Huguenot toll plaza.
He then negotiated with a lady of the night for her services, and once a compromise was reached, business began.
On completion, the truck driver refused to pay his dues and needless to say, the woman became irate.
She took her chance and grabbed the driver’s handgun which was tucked into his pants, and ran to the safety of her business manager.
She insisted that the weapon would be her payment for services rendered.
But the driver did not agree and a scuffle took place between the three, during which the business partner robbed the truck driver of R200.
Concerned onlookers alerted the police when they caught sight of the chaos during which the weapon was being flung wildly around.
The three were arrested and taken to Paarl police station where they were booked on charges ranging from the illegal possession of a firearm to theft.
