Spectacular evening of piano and guitar

TWO of South Africa’s most stablished concert soloists, James Grace (classical guitar) and pianist Christopher Duigan, join forces for a spectacular evening of music featuring the unusual combination of piano and guitar. This programme is presented for one performance only in the historic NG Church in Franschhoek on Saturday 2 February starting at 19:00. The two have been collaborating on this innovative project for some time and local Winelands music lovers will have an opportunity to experience their unique presentation first hand later this month. Their programme will feature popular items from the Latin world including Black Orpheus, Tico Tico, Piazzolla’s Libertango and Oblivion as well as contemporary pieces by Richard Guines and the flamenco inspired La Fiesta. Original compositions for the combination include Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Fantasia and as well as the Cavatina as used in the film The Deer Hunter.
