A GOURMET Getaway is just what one needs to smooth away the week’s stress. The Santé Winelands Hotel and Wellness Centre in Simondium has introduced a five-star package to be hosted on the last Friday of every month.
Included is a six-course gourmet dinner with executive chef Carl van Rooyen preparing a symphony of tastes for the chef’s table, accompanied by fine wines sponsored by leading Cape wineries.
The first such package, was hosted by the chef and Andrea Freeborough, Nederburg’s winemaker, who explained the wines pairing the cuisine.
Guests enjoy welcoming drinks and relax in their luxurious suite with a log fire and patio overlooking the mountains, water features, herb gardens, the estate’s vineyards and olive groves.
There is unlimited access to the indoor pool and spa facilities such as the sauna, jacuzzi, multi-experience showers and gymnasium as well as mountain bikes to take on rides through the 160h estate.
The gourmet package includes a 30 minute treatment of either massage or body scrub in the centre that was voted one of the ‘16 Best Spa’s on Earth’ by UK Elle Magazine.
A full breakfast rounds off the relaxing and rejuvating experience.
