BIZOPPS exhibition will take place from 13 to 15 March at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
The idea behind BizOpps is to have a one-stop resource for business owners and entrepreneurs who have developed franchise or business concepts, who wish to offer their business opportunities to prospective franchises and small business owners.
Entrepreneurs who are looking for business opportunities can take a look at established franchises like the man-in-a-van concepts, home services, entertainment, fast food, business-to-business services, retail and real estate.
With between 35 and 40% of all economic activity going through small business activity, and with franchising accounting for a credible 12% of the total, there is no question that small business will play a crucial role in the coming years. Franchising, as a business method, has proved to be incredibly resilient in the face of economic uncertainty.
As the economy declines and the nation’s corporations downsize, often leaving thousands out of work, franchising becomes a popular alternative to bare-bones start-ups. A recession prompts people to reconsider their skills and careers, while consumers search for the consistency and value of established brands.
Franchising offers an attractive alternative to staying in an insecure job, offering the franchisee a degree of independence along with a support structure that includes training, national advertising, product recognition, manuals and guidelines that have proved their effectiveness.
FASA’s training course on writing a business plan will also show you how to do the layout of an business plan.
