THE Sahara Park cricket grounds in Newlands was a feast of activities for the youth and ministries of the New Apostolic Church’s Cape district recently, with youth from Paarl, Wellington and Franschhoek also attending the service.
Young people cannot see a future for themselves and often become victims to various forms of substance abuse and face HIV/Aids, teenage pregnancies, crime and gangsterism and are trapped in a society of poverty.
These challenges ensure that the battle to make a future for themselves is so much harder.
Churches must realise how important their role as community leaders is to support and assist young people so that they can survive these dangers and challenges.
Youth activities should play an important role in the lives of the youth to install a strong Christian tradition.
