THE DA submitted a motion at the last Drakenstein municipal council meeting in response to the qualified report of the Auditor-General on the financial affairs of the SA Local Government Association for municipal employers. The motion proposed that the Drakenstein Municipality withdraw its membership of R700 000 from Salga with immediate effect and that the savings be utilised for the improvement of outdated infrastructure services. The motion was defeated by the ANC majority.
