Night race success

THE Athletics Clubs at Drakenstein and Allandale Correctional Services once again combined their efforts and showcased a night race in the streets of Paarl on Wednesday. This event took place over a distance of 10 kilometres. The race started and finished at the Faure Street Stadium. A total of 443 athletes competed in this year’s race under the rules of Boland Athletics and Athletics South Africa (ASA) which included males, females, seniors and juniors. The overall winners in the categories for males and females were Dicardo Jacobs and Leanne Juul respectively. A veteran of Paarl Athletics Club, Styntjie Prins, was the first woman Master athlete during the event.
