String quartet performs in Franschhoek

ON Thursday 20 March, in a change of style and tempo, guests can expect a classical experience as the Vineyard Brasserie welcomes the four ladies of the Palm Strings string quartet. Titia Blake (violin), Lucia Scott (violin), Barbara Kennedy (cello) and Karen Gaertner (viola) have all been principal players in the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra and have a versatile repertoire to suit any occasion. This magical evening will begin with complimentary drinks at 19:00 followed by the first part of the concert at 19:30. Their programme will include popular pieces by JS Bach, Mozart, Brahms and Rossini in the first part and, in the second part, some of the wonderful timeless music of Jerome Kern, Gershwin, Cole Porter, Lennon McCartney and Irving Berlin played in classical style.
