Development planned in Paarl South

Development planned in Paarl South

2008-04-10

A RESIDENTIAL development of 120 houses is planned on the outskirts of Paarl, on the old Paarl Road to Klapmuts.

This development by the Boonzaaier Development Trust will be located at the intersection of the road to Klapmuts and the road leading to the Afrikaans Language Monument, where a service station was formerly located.

It is proposed that the site of 9,5 hectares, bordering on the N1, will be subdivided for residential purposes.

An application for the amendment of the urban structure plan to allow for this development has been lodged by Jan Hanekom Partnership.

* An additional subdivision of adjoining land where there is currently a pottery shop, is planned by the Perold Development Trust.

This will allow for the construction of 13 double storey units with security access.

The current commercial building is to be redeveloped as a lifestyle centre with restaurant.

For enquiries concerning the basic assessment of the project, contact Anel Blignaut Environmental Consultants on 021887-9900.

* A new development of 25 units (single residential and group housing) is planned between Sand Street and May Avenue in Newton West. For enquiries, contact Praktiplan Development Planners.

* A total of 374 low cost single residential units are to be built in Gouda on behalf of the Drakenstein Municipality on a site of 5,7 hectares.

The erven will be between 135m² and 310m² in size. Provision will also be made for a crèche and a church.
