A MBEKWENI artist was murdered for half a beer at the weekend. According to witnesses, Simthemdale Kewuti (27) of Drommedaris Street was knifed to death while drinking at a shebeen near his informal home.
It happened after an argument about half a bottle of beer at 04:00 on Saturday.
Xolela Nyangnya (25) of Phola Park 3368 was detained.
Kewuti has exhibited his work at Wellington’s Breytenbach Centre.
