I WOULD like to comment on the article: “Audit highlights municipal irregularities” of 19 March.
The second paragraph reads, in part, that the qualified audit opinion “was based on a number of irregularities”.
Please note that this is incorrect as our opinion is based on a number of weaknesses found and does not refer to irregularities. This might appear a minor point in print, but in audit and financial management terms it has a huge implication to the reputation of those we audit.
