IT is high time that the police should be praised for the work well done.
The police sacrifice their lives day and night to make sure that law and order is maintained in our society. I want to salute superintendent Dyantyi and his team for the work well done.
I want to single out an incident that took place on 9 March 2008. People were illegally evicted by the residents of White City.
The police managed to control the angry crowd. They secured the safety of property as well as lives of people. Dyantyi convened an urgent meeting that night with community leaders and mediate for peace and prosperity.
He even went out of his way to contact the mayor and municipal manager to inform them about the situation.
The next day he convened another meeting with the community leaders, the mayoral committee and the matter was resolved amicably.
This is the kind of intervention we need, the kind of service required. Conflicts must be resolved through negotiations and not through violence. We salute you superintendent Dyantyi. Keep up the good work.
