WITH the third Franschhoek Autumn Classical Music Festival, music lovers can be sure to have an innovative selection of music performance brought to the winelands this weekend. Tomorrow at 19:30 at Vineyard Brasserie members of the Blue Velvet Strings, Ralica Cherneva, Valentina Koleva and Cecilia de Cecco, explore a variety of music for a dinner concert experience with popular appeal. Tickets R250 and includes a three-course dinner. Saturday at 12:30 at the Dutch Reformed Church, creating an inspired classical programme in the festival series, members of the Blue Velvet Strings and Christopher Duigan perform two quartets for violin, viola, cello and piano; Mozart’s Piano Quartet No 1 in G minor and Schumann’s Piano Quartet op 47. Also Saturday at 18:00, experience a unique presentation in the Dutch Reformed Church, with an evening music. Stil on Saturday at 19:30 at the Vineyard Brasserie James Grace (classical guitar) and pianist Christopher Duigan join forces for a spectacular evening of music featuring the unusual combination of piano and guitar. Tickets are R250 and includes a three-course dinner. Sunday morning’s recital at 11:30 offers an opportunity to explore an engaging selection of music in a ‘literary’ piano recital.
