AN exhibition featuring artworks in postcard format opens at Off the Wall Contemporary, the art gallery in 171 Main Street, Paarl, on Wednesday 4 June.

For this exhibition artists were invited to produce artworks in a postcard format, in any medium.

Using only the postcard as their inspiration, ideas about communication, the lack thereof, memories, sentimentality and other topics are all explored in this show.

“Collecting postcards can be a rewarding and fascinating hobby, and a window into the past,” says curator Wendy Roux.

“The Postcard Show is about education and fun.”

All postcard works will be sold at R450 each, thus creating an opportunity to buy good quality original artworks at affordable prices.

The exhibition closes on Friday 27 June when it moves to Lourensford Estate in Somerset West.
