CHILDREN can enjoy an interesting Paper Theatre Workshop at the Iziko Planetarium during the July school holidays, learning to construct a model theatre.

Suitable for children aged 6-8 years, the workshop, which forms part of the Planetarium’s holiday programme, runs on 3, 8 and 10 July from 10:00 to 12:15.

The event costs R20 per child and is preceded by the Planetarium show ‘Magic Milo and the Astronaut’.

Tickets can be purchased from the main entrance of the Iziko South African Museum daily from 10:00 to 17:00. Early booking is advisable.

* ‘Magic Milo and the Astronaut’ runs daily during the school holidays, weekdays at 12:00 and 13:00 and weekends at 12:00.

A tale about a fish called Milo, it tells the story of how Milo and his friend, Sammy Starfish, embark on a journey into space and discover the ups and downs of being an astronaut.

* For teens and adults, ‘Celestial Clouds’ runs daily at 13:00 and weekends at 14:30 and reveals, in images, the astonishing beauty of our Milky Way, its neighbouring galaxies, dust clouds and celestial labyrinths. Learn how new stars are formed as well as our place in the universe.

The holiday programme runs until 13 July.
