THE Wellington/Malmesbury road will be closed on Friday 18 July for time trials which will be held as part the 2008 UCI Junior World Championships, with 170 cyclists from 34 countries participating.

The championship incorporates five days of track cycling at the Bellville Velodrome from 12 to 20 July, time trials in Wellington and an individual road race through the streets of the City of Cape Town.

The R45 including the R307, Lady Loch North and South to the intersection of the R44, will be closed for the entire day. The R44 will al- so be closed.

Other roads affected include the Haaskraal Road intersection, Katryntjiesdrif Road and Agter Paardeberg (307).

The day before, on Thursday 17 July, the R45 will be closed intermittently from the R44 intersection to the Lady Loch turn-offs between 13:00 and 15:00.

Motorists travelling from Paarl to Wellington and Malmesbury will have to use alternative routes on this day.
