Boland cyclists show their magic

AT the recent 2008 Eric van Enter Interprovincial Schools Championships, three of the Neotel Academy riders, representing Boland, performed outstandingly to take home the u.12 category team competition. The young team consisted of Jean Claude Jantjies, Graeme Ockhuis (current u.12 SA Road champion) and Luc Green. In the first event of the three day competition - the Team Time Trial - the Boland riders put their heads down and clocked the fastest time of the day with 18 minutes 42,11 seconds. In the hill climb the strong Jean Claude Jantjies was beaten into second position. Jantjies is currently the bronze medal winner in the SA Time Trial Championships. In the 40km road race the three Boland team-mates worked well together with Jantjies eventually finishing in third position. In the last event - the 15 minutes Criterion - the Boland Team did not manage to score any points, but still managed to be crowned the u.12 SA Interprovincial Schools Champions.
