New development planned in Paarl North

AN application for the development of a section of land adjoining Retief Street in Paarl North (portion of erf 8724) has been lodged with the Municipality. The land was formerly part of the farm St Pieter’s Roche. The owner plans to develop sections of the farm adjoining Retief Street for residential use, as infill between existing residential development. A total of 229 erven are proposed with a density of about 15 units per hectare (an average of 378 square metres per erf). Also proposed are a restaurant and offices in an old farmhouse. For this purpose, the urban structure plan and Drakenstein Urban Edge need to be altered. Objections, if any, must reach the municipal manager by 4 August. For enquiries, phone 021- 807- 4834.
