Renal care now in Paarl

Renal care now in Paarl

2008-07-17

RESIDENTS of the Paarl Valley suffering from kidney diseases do not have to drive all the way to Cape Town for much needed dialysis any more.

This is thanks to a new National Renal Care (NRC) unit which recently opened its doors to the public in Patriot Square, Paarl.

The unit provides services such as renal dialysis, plasma therapy and blood exchange at their premises and they will also visit patients at home when necessary.

Silke Wiggens is one of the patients who needs to receive renal dialysis at least two to three times a week.

“Without these machines I would not be able to live a normal life.

“Previously I had to drive all the way to N1 City to receive dialysis, but now this service is conveniently situated in the heart of Paarl and the staff are very helpful,” said Silke.

For further information about services at the NRC unit, contact Maryke at 021-872-0852.
