Gourmet evenings to celebrate summer

WHAT better way to start the summer season at Grande Roche than to celebrate with a gourmet evening on Saturday 9 August. Bosman’s Restaurant at Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl, renowned for its culinary awards and excellence, will feature Veenwouden cellarmaster and his wines, and guests will be assured of a most unforgettable experience. Bosman’s gourmet evenings are designed to entice discerning food and wine connoisseurs to join the Cape’s top winemakers and wine personalities who host the evening and present some of their favourite wines. Executive chef Frank Zlomke, head chef Jochen Riedel and the culinary team together with the Grande Roche sommeliers join up with cellarmaster Marcel van der Walt of Veenwouden to showcase the best of their best. Marcel will introduce some of his latest vintages as well as some of his old favourites. Marcel, sometime professional golfer and winemaker, together with wine colleague Faried Williams celebrated their 13-year partnership at this Paarl wine estate. Veenwouden wines have regularly received four to 4½-star ratings in the John Platter Wine Guides.
