REGISTRATIONS are now open for the next Stellenbosch University Certificate in Wine Evaluation Course.
This is the second presentation of the course and it has received a fantastic response from the wine industry and wine drinkers throughout South Africa earlier this year.
This part-time ten week course is available to students nationally through a combination of distance learning via the internet and face-to-face contact sessions.
The course is compiled by Stellenbosch University lecturer, Charl Theron, and the course is facilitated by Getsmarter.
The Course includes 10 weeks’ tuition via distance learning via the internet combined with two practical workshops held in Cape Town.
It covers 10 modules (theory and practical) and a blind tasting assessment, and continuous assistance and guidance from the course administrator
It covers a number of topics including History of Wine; Viticulture; Basic Winemaking; Storing and Serving Wine; Food and Wine Pairing; International wine production and most importantly Wine Evaluation with exposure to over 70 different wine samples including 15 International wines
