Comedy revolution comes home
2008-07-31
OVER the past few months, South Africa has seen stand up Comedy explode across the country with Comedy Revolution. And it’s making its way to the Old Mill Theatre in Paarl on Saturday 9 August at 20:00. The event will include some very well-known faces from the South African entertainment circuit, from the TV comedy Going Nowhere Slowly’s Dave Levinsohn, through to 7de Laan’s Melt Sieberhagen. Martin Evans from the UK/RSA will be hosting the evening and bringing along the best in the Cape’s new and up and coming acts as well. The Comedy Revolution, billed as “South Africa’s largest stand up comedy tour” is running all over South Africa on a regular basis, taking the comedy show to towns and cities all over the country. The tour is truly on a mammoth scale for the SA scene. For the first time, the Comedy Revolution is taking on shows with a more Afrikaans flavour. The best in local and international comedians are being used and promises to be the most amazing night’s comedy ever seen in Paarl, and possibly the first. The Comedy Revolution is looking to transform comedy in South Africa and provide a platform for both the performers as well as the audience to see the best possible comedy in South Africa. This will be the first of what will prove to be many nights of comedy in Paarl at the Old Mill Theatre. Call Vicky Stemmet at 083-564-0056.
