Bastille Day at Boschendal

BOSCHENDAL's well-known restaurant, sited in what was once the estate's winery, is gearing up for one of its most popular winter functions: the Bastille Day festivities starting today (Bastille Day).
They will hold a Bastille Day six course lunch. This will then be repeated tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.
Tamsin Michalitsianos of the Boschendal hospitality tea am says that the tricolour and cockades will be much in evidence and all staff will wear 18th Century French dress.
A guillotine will go into action in the historic werf.
Other winter lunches on the Boschendal calendar include Women's Day (on 9th August) and two Cape Heritage Days at which traditional dishes from the homelands of all those who contributed to the mela· ting pot of South Africa's population will be served.
