A FEW months ago I noticed a private contractor unloading so-called “fertiliser” onto the islands on the new section of the road leading from the traffic island near Paarl Mall for the Municipality.
Hundreds of plants and shrubs were later planted.
Lately I see the islands covered in weeds and now all the vegetation is being removed as they cannot distinguish between shrubs and weeds, because of the very heavy growth of weeds.
The provincial roads department has obviously been ripped off and we the poor taxpayers foot the bill again due to disgracefully poor management.
Or did they forget to install the irrigation?
