Petrol thieves strike

Petrol thieves strike

2008-08-14

WITH the rising cost of fuel, motorists seem to now be speeding away without footing their petrol bill.

Last week a local petrol station was left with a loss of more than R700, after a vehicle refuelled.

A white Opel Monza entered Wynland Motors late one evening and asked the petrol attendant to fill up his vehicle.

When the petrol attendant had finished, the man sped off without any warning.

This type of theft has become rampant in larger areas and due to this, the authorities are looking at the possibility of closing petrol stations at night.

Anybody who has information about the owner of this vehicle, CY 191623, can contact Capt Landela Pete at 021-807-4000.
