FOUR people died in violent crimes over the weekend. In Wellington a man was killed by his own knife behind the Hexberg Café. According to witnesses, Jan Bailey returned to his home behind the café and started to assault his common-law wife, Janet Booysen. During this event, Bailey’s knife was taken off him and he was stabbed with it. He died on the way to Paarl Hospital. Booysen appeared in court in connection with his death. * A man was killed in Groenheuwel, after an argument with another man. Xolile Mayilasana asked the man to leave his property in Abraham Street, when an argument took place. Mayilasana was stabbed with a knife and died shortly after his arrival at Paarl Hospital. * Two people were found dead under mysterious circumstances in Mbekweni, also this weekend. The police received a call from the central control room in Cape Town, informing them that they had information about a dead body in a shallow dam in the farm area of Vlakkeland Road. The police converged upon the scene, and the body of Xolani Mgotywa (40) was retrieved. It has been established that the original call to the police had been placed from a Cape Town number, which is being traced. * The body of Siyabulela Sagela was found with a stab wound in Drommedaris Street. No one has been arrested for the murder. Anyone who can help the police with their investigation into these two incidents, can contact Capt Selma Bredenhann at 021- 868-9926.
