Offer for young people to study overseas
2008-09-04
LOCAL young business people and professionals have an opportunity in 2009 to study at international institutions. These further studies are being offered by Rotary International through the Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange program. The opportunity is open to business people and professionals between the ages of 25 and 35 who are in the early stages of their careers and the selected candidates will participate in short-term overseas visits taking place in April and May. Four members will be selected for each of two teams and, under the leadership of a Rotarian Team Leader, will visit either Tucson, Arizona (USA) or Hesse (Germany). Each group’s four week itinerary will include vocational, educational and cultural visits organised by the host district. Team-members will be accommodated by Rotarians in the host country and airfares are covered by the Rotary Foundation. Since 1965 more than 59 000 individuals from 100 countries have participated in these exchanges. Eligible candidates should have had minimum of two years’ working experience in their chosen career. Candidates will need to be healthy and outgoing and serve as good ambassadors for South Africa and Rotary International. The deadline for application is 20 September and further information is available from Chris Marais at Drakenstein Rotary, 021-872-0306 or 082-6514930 or email at christoffelm@absamail.co.za.
