R5,5M upgrading for Gouda

THE Drakenstein Mayoral Committee has approved a contribution of R5,5 million for the upgrading of the waste water treatment works and pump station at Gouda, to provide for the housing scheme of 150 low cost houses. The housing project by the Department of Housing will provide 150 houses at R69 000 per unit (a total of R10,3 million). It is anticipated that the upgrading of the works will commence during March 2009. Element Consulting Engineers has been appointed as Project Manager. An Environmental Impact Assessment report will be submitted to the Department of Planning and Environmental Affairs for consideration.
