Runners tackle Bain’s Kloof

ON Heritage Day, three sporting events will take place in Wellington. They are the Wilde Bainskloof Ultra-Marathon over 63,3km, a half-marathon over 21,1km and a 10km fun walk. The beneficiaries of these events are the Arendsnes Street Children’s Project, Murray Children’s Home and a few other youth projects in the Wellington area. The marathons are presented by the Wellington Athletics Club and organised by Itheko Events Management in accordance with the rules of Boland Athletics and ASA. Prize money will be awarded in all age categories. Entries can be done online via www.entrytime.co.za. Entry forms are also available at all leading sports outlets and must be received by Friday 19 September. Late entries will be accepted on Monday 22 September and Tuesday 23 September from 11:00 until 20:00 at the Huguenot High School in Wellington. The Wilde Bainskloof Ultra-Marathon starts at 06:00 from Huguenot High School and the entry fee is R120. The half-marathon starts at 07:30 from Huguenot High School and the entry fee is R45. Late entries will be accepted on the morning of the race between 05:00 and 07:00 at the Huguenot High School in Wellington. The 10km fun walk starts at 07:45 from Huguenot High School and entries take place on 22 and 23 September from 11:00 until 20:00. The entry fee is R20. Late entries will be accepted on the morning of the fun walk between 05:00 and 07:30 at the Huguenot High School in Wellington.
