Musical showcase at wine estate

THE Frank Pietersen Music Centre will be presenting a Musical Showcase at Nelson’s Creek Wine Estate’s conference hall on Sunday at 17:30. All the music centre’s ensembles will be performing. These groups have excelled at the recent Paarl Valley Eisteddfod. The Intermediate Strings received a Silver award. The Junior and Senior Strings, the Junior and Senior Windband and the Junior Brass Ensemble were awarded Gold. The Senior Brass Ensemble impressed the adjudicator so much that they were awarded Gold Cum Laude and received the cup for best orchestra. So come and enjoy a Sunday outing to hear all these ensembles as well as the Frank Pietersen Youth Orchestra, a steelband, an African percussion ensemble and the very exciting Frank Pietersen big band. They will be performing some wonderful jazz items and you can sit back and enjoy the swing-vibes of young saxophone and trumpet players giving top quality jazz performances of “String of Pearls” and “Tuxedo Junction”.
