Thanks for lovely animal stories

Thanks for lovely animal stories

THE wonderful two articles on the wild animals in our mountains recently, makes your newspaper a worthy bearer of good news each week.

Too much crime is part of our daily life now, but these articles make my life infinitely better.

It is wonderful to see how people can still care - there are far too many who don’t.

The article about the trigger campera (with the photos of the leopard and the baboon photographed on Du Toit’s Kloof) are an initiative that can only make us all appreciative of our animal kingdom, as well as Rupert the Lynx in last week’s newspaper.

It is so sad his mother and siblings did not survive a farmer’s bullet.

The few wild animals that inhabit this valley are more than welcome here. Responsible farmers will protect their farm animals I am sure. I believe in live and let live.

Thank you to Cam Newton and his family, human and feline, for taking in this little orphan and helping it survive.

I will definitely visit Rupert at Butterfly World once he is resident there.

Being a cat and animal lover, I find Lynxes one of the most beautiful wild cat species we have in SA and they should never become just an endangered wildlife animal statistic.
