THE Xobiso family of Mbekweni was hit by tragedy this week.

Hilda Mhase Xobiso (58) took ill suddenly on Thursday, and her husband Mzandile was recalled urgently to his home.

When he got there, his wife had passed away of natural causes, possibly a heart attack or stroke.

Then on Tuesday more tragedy struck. Her son, Patrick Monwabisi Adams (36), died on his way to the funeral of his mother. He worked as a radiographer at the Nelson Mandela Hospital in Mtha­ta.

Patrick was travelling to the funeral with three friends from East London, when the car he was driving was involved in an accident near Ngcobo.

All four men died.

Hilda is survived by her husband, a daughter, a son and five grandchildren.

The double funeral will be held on Saturday, starting at the family home in Phola Park at 07:00, followed by a service at the United Methodist Church at 08:00.
