MUSIC is in the air with the fifth Franschhoek Spring Classical Music Festival and once again an outstanding selection of music is on offer from 24 to 26 October. * Joanne Rozario and Christopher Duigan open the festival with an evening of classical music for clarinet and piano by Brahms, Weber and Schumann Friday 24 October at 19:30 at the NGK Church. Tickets are R80. * In a presentation titled ‘Play, Piano Play!’ Duigan performs a whirlwind tour of piano music from around the world on Saturday 25 October at 12:00 at the NGK Church. Tickets are R80. * Making a welcome return, the popular Russian Kerimov Trio perform with their appealing verve and stunning virtuosity on the Saturday at 19:00 at the Vineyard Brasserie. R250 includes a three-course dinner and Cap Classique on arrival. * Enjoy a classical performance for violin, cello and piano with the Kerimov Trio on a Sunday 26 October at 11:30 at the NGK Church. Tickets are R80. * More Songs You Love is a light hearted selection of songs performed by baritone Federico Freschi Sunday 26 October at 12:30 at Vineyard Brasserie, accompanied by Christopher Duigan. Tickets are R250 and include a three-course lunch and Cap Classique on arrival. * Festival musicians gather in the final celebration concert to perform in the magnificent garden setting at La Rive, 29 Dirkie Uys Street, on Sunday 26 October at 15:30.
