THE 2008 ARC Bien Donné Agricultural Expo is well underway and stronger than ever. The expo takes place in Simondium on 6, 7 and 8 November. Now in its 66th year, the Expo will continue to focus on research, farming and agricultural producers. The expo will be open to all sectors of the agricultural industry. More than 200 companies will exhibit their products and services, making the Bien Donné Expo one of the largest agricultural expos in the Cape. Exhibitor space is selling fast and includes companies such as Andrag Agrico, Kaap Agri, Rovic & Leers, Argo Industrial, Central Forklift Services, Cutters, McBeans, Pellenc-Molenaar, Turfmaster, Kubota, Agriplas and many more. “Exhibitors and visitors can expect an array of new features and improvements at this year’s expo,” says event manager, Chris de Klerk of Cadek Media. New features include mini-conferences on the business of wine and fruit farming, workshops, international wine and whisky tastings, an agri-market on the Saturday and special programmes for schools and farm workers. There are big prizes up for grabs to both visitors and participants in various competitions. The agricultural industry will not only have the opportunity to network and do big business, but will also be entertained. Some of the social highlights include a traditional spitbraai and braai demonstrations. A women’s programme is presented and entertainment by well-known artists such as Thys die Bosveldklong, Sarah Theron, Christo and Cobus, Andries Vermeulen and others.
