THE international magazine Wine Enthusiast honours leaders in the crafting, marketing and distribution of wine and spirits worldwide with their annual Wine Star awards.

This year Paarl has been nominated as Wine Region of the Year, along with Mendoza (Argentina), Santa Barbara (California), Valpolicella (Italy) and Willamette Valley (Oregon).

The nominees will be featured in the November 1 issue of the magazine, with an awards gala dinner on 26 January.
