IN the latest Drakenstein municipal newsletter, the Municipality mentions the proposed Waterfront development, amongst other fairy tales: “You can truly say this is a product inspired by our quest to play a key role in the 2010 (World Cup) tournament.”
Please explain how, in a period of less than 24 months, our Municipality is going to erect an entire waterfront development, consisting of a shopping centre, hotel, wellness centre etc - and also relocate the various sporting clubs situated on the river bank.
I suggest the Mayor concentrates her attention on relatively simple matters such as cleaning up the disgraceful state of Lady Grey Street. You would score less political points this way, but certainly you would gain a great deal of respect from your ratepayers.
