Few units left at Piano Factory
2008-10-30
WITH only 21 of the 125 units left to sell at their Piano Factory development in Bain Street, Wellington, Aslo Property Holdings are keeping prices at the low level at which they launched the project two years ago. This means that investors, to whom the scheme has proved particularly popular on account of the strong student population of the village, can still get a bachelor unit for R485 000, a one bedroom unit for R682 000 and two bedroom unit for R750 000. Roughly 70% of the units are in fact lofts with the bedrooms in the upper section under the pitched roofs. These are lined internally with timber cladding and painted white. Johannes Barnard, Executive Sales Manager for ASLO, has said that he is prepared at this stage to offer attractive special terms on the few remaining units. The design of the complex has, in the developer’s view, put it in line for at least one architectural award for multi-unit developments. Aslo has renovated and improved the historic piano factory facade facing onto treelined Bain Street. The apartment blocks enclose large internal spaces and the buildings all have simple, but attractive modern Cape Vernacular styles. This enclosed area will offer secure parking to residents. The entrance gate is electronically controlled and may also be manned.
