Tip-off leads to arrest

TWO high-flying crime operators of Mbekweni have been arrested, thanks to a tip-off from a member of the public. Mbekweni police had been in pursuit of two men, Zuka Simon (23) and Mzandile Sali (24), after a violent burglary in the area. Pictures of the fugitives were distributed amongst the community, and soon the police received an anonymous tip-off, which led to their arrest. Both suspects are regarded by the police as crime generators in the Mbekweni area, and they can possibly be linked to various criminal activities. The acting station commissioner, Supt Cornelius Geldenhuys, thanked the community of Mbekweni for assisting in the fight against crime. “This goes to show that we can all play a role in crime prevention.”
