MORE than 200 companies will exhibit their products and services at the 66th annual ARC Bien Donné Agricultural Expo that will take place from today to Saturday in Simondium. This expo, one of the largest agricultural expos in the Western Cape, focuses on farming and agricultural producers and is open to all sectors of the agricultural industry. Apart from the many agricultural products, implements and services on offer, the show also offers a variety of interesting and informative workshops and talks. These range from technical viticultural matters right through to marketing issues and technical tastings. The programme also offers tutored wine and cheese tastings and talks on gardening as well as safety issues for farm workers. The farm & wine market will be open on Saturday from 09:00 to 16:00. Make use of this opportunity to browse the stalls, taste great wines and buy fresh produce for your table. Fruit, vegetables, home bakes, preserves and much more will be on offer. The gardening and horticulture exhibit is another new addition at this year’s expo. Learn more about gardening, get fresh ideas, meet leading landscapers and view beautiful flowers on show. The expo also features the latest in gardening equipment and specialised horticultural products. There will also be a host of activities for children: Daily events for children include a fun park with kiddies’ rides, a petting zoo and “Boeresports” that includes traditional fun and games, like tug of war, spoon and egg racing and jumping bag races.
