A PAARL-BASED financial services company, FS Konsultante & Makelaarsdienste, was one of ten finalists in the prestigious SA Best Practice of the Year Award 2008. This award recognises the most professionally run independent financial advisory practices in South Africa. The competition and award is organised by Celestis Practice Management, an Old Mutual subsidiary, in association with Business Health, an Australian consulting firm specialising in financial services. The event is endorsed by a number of leading product providers and industry associations such as Old Mutual, Sanlam, Liberty Life, Metropolitan, Masthead, the Financial Planning Institute and the Financial Intermediary Association of South Africa. Says Francois Strauss of FS Konsultante & Makelaarsdienste, “Regarding the tough times and seeking advice about investments, our clients are taught to be patient, patient and more patient. We are definitely in no position to change the global economy, but being wary of the economy does not mean you should stay out of it. It merely means we should be more cautious. “Needs and goals need to be examined and then the appropriate investment vehicles must be selected to achieve those goals. “I always wanted to check the health of our business.
