Store ablaze
2008-11-13
A POPULAR business in central Paarl will be closed for several months, after it was damaged by a fire on Monday night. A fire broke out at the 7-Eleven late night convenience store near the intersection of Main and Lady Grey Street shortly after 01:00. The blaze presumably started due to an electrical shortage in the roof, at the rear of the shop. Owner of the store, Wesley Swart, said that the loss was devastating for the business and that he still has not been able to evaluate the extent of the damage.
