ARMED robbers once again got away with a large sum of money and valuables this past weekend.

Just before 13:00 on Saturday, three men entered Sterns jewellery store in Lady Grey Street, Paarl.

They threatened two shop assistants, as well as a client who was in the store.

The three victims were tied up behind the counter, while the men ransacked the shop. They escaped with cash, cellphones and diamond rings.

The police are appealing to the client who was in the shop at the time of the robbery to come forward to help them with their investigation. Insp Hennie Williams can be contacted at 021-

On Thursday evening, three men armed with firearms entered the house­ shop of a Nigerian in Lanquedoc. They escaped in a white vehicle with R10 000 in cash.

Various local businesses and business owners have been the victim of such robberies in the past few months.

Earlier this year Pep Stores in the Mall, a shop in Windmeul and a Fidelity Guard vehicle in Franschhoek were all victims of armed robbers.

More recently, the MTN shop in Paarl Main Street, Build-It in Huguenot, as well as two well-known store owners in Paarl East, also became victims.

Various house shops in Mbekweni, as well as the railway station, have also been targeted.
