2008-11-20
A SPECIAL Christmas Concert featuring the internationally acclaimed Libertas Choir will be presented on Friday 28 November at 19:00 at the NG Church in Franschhoek at La Motte wine estate. This choir, the members of which represent a mirror image of the South African community, will undoubtedly treat the audience to a festive highlight to get the season of giving started. The choir, conducted by Professor Johan de Villiers, is South Africa’s first permanent adult choir whose members transcend cultural, racial, religious and social status borders and are proud to represent their mission statement which is ‘Freedom through Harmony’. The Choir continuously promotes indigenous musical traditions and develops new talent for the benefit of all communities that they visit and stage performances. They undertake annual trips to rural areas in South Africa with the specific goal of taking the music back to the people from which it originally emanated. Entrance to the concert is R110 including finger snacks and La Motte wines served after the concert in the Church Hall. Book at the La Motte tasting venue or by phoning Angela or Anneke at 021-876-3114.
