FRANSCHHOEK will once again play stylish host to the country’s largest Champagne festival from 6 to 7 December. The 2008 Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival will showcase an array of celebrated Cap Classique producers as well as some of the finest French Champagne Houses. The festivities will take place in a grand marquee on the lawns surrounding Franschhoek’s famous Huguenot Monument. The bubbly stalls will be intermingled with a wide variety of food stands where Franschhoek’s leading restaurants will be offering specially prepared cuisine to complement the champagne. Entrance to the bubbly tasting costs R180 per head, and includes a flute tasting glass and a book of bubbly tasting vouchers.
