Old Boys have reason to hold their heads high

THE Boys’ High Old Boys played some of the best indoor teams in the Western Cape last week in the six-a-side CPUT indoor hockey tournament. The Paarlites lost three and won two, but could still hold their heads up high ending with a total of 21 goals for and 20 against. Michael Oosthuizen was the best performer. On the Astro last week, the Old Boys beat Bellville 4-2 in the last game of the WP MX summer league to end their season unbeaten. Oosthuizen, Thaamir Moerat, Ryan Calanan and Adrian Frost wre the goal scorers. The Boys won seven of their eight games this season, drawing once. They scored 26 goals, with only eleven against them. The new season kicks off on 19 January 2009. *Oosthuizen and Adlee Moerat (goalkeeper) were jointly named Old Boys players of the season. Ryan Calanan and Thaamir Moerat shared the award for the most goals (seven each).
