Community Games kick off

THE Drakenstein Community Games kicked off on Monday with the first venue being the Saron Sports Field. On Tuesday the games moved to the Gouda Sports Field and yesterday the Games were held at the CPUT Sports Ground in Wellington. Today, from 08:00 to 16:00, the games will continue at the Mbekweni Sports Ground, with the Weltevrede Sports Ground in Van Wyksvlei being the venue tomorrow (from 08:00 to 17:00). It is the third year that the Community Games has been implemented by Bright Idea (in collaboration with Drakenstein Municipality) to promote participation in sport, targeting different areas on different days. The Games will continue next week at Paulus Joubert Primary School on Monday (08 December), New Orleans Secondary School on Tuesday (09 December), Dalweide Primary Sports Field on Wednesday (10 December) and Simondium Primary School on Thursday (11 December). The finals of the Community Games will be held at the Dal Josaphat Stadium on Tuesday 16 December.
