Summer festival on Saturday
2008-12-18
THE Summer Treat Festival is to be held at the St Albans Primary School in Wellington on Saturday 20 December. There will be train rides and jumping castles for the children, a watermelon feast, and lots of water-based fun - perfect for the hot days we can expect in summer. “We have organised a special ‘ice rink’ for the children. This is a first for the festival, and we think it will be a lot of fun, especially if it is one of Wellington’s especially hot days. The ice rink does not use electricity and has a surface that simulates that of real ice,” says organiser Faize Arnold. Visitors will be able to browse through a number of stalls, and there will be live entertainment with a few local bands. The Summer Treat Festival’s gates will open at 09:00 and all proceeds will go towards the maintenance and upkeep of the Wellington Muslim Community.
