HOLLYWOOD ROCKS, a Barnyard Theatre Production directed by award winning director Ian von Memerty, is the hottest new ticket on the threatre circuit and Paarlites will have the opportunity to see this show on 8 February at 18:00 at the Grand Roche Hotel amphitheatre. There is nothing better for someone who is a fan of the movies and music than to experience Hollywood Rocks. Tickets are available at Drakenstein Hospice. Featuring a talented 10-piece cast, the show takes a time trip through the most popular rock and pop tunes featured in movies during the last decades. The show features some of the greatest pop and rock tunes featured in Hollywood’s greatest movies. Hollywood Rocks covers a wide range of music starting in the fifties with songs like “Jailhouse Rock” from the movie with the same title to the sixties with songs like “America” from West Side Story and “Born to be Wild” from the classic Easy Rider. In the seventies we get dancing to “Staying Alive” from Saturday Night Fever to the the sultry sounds of Barbara Streisand with “Evergreen” the theme song from a Star is Born. In the eighties Hollywood rocks to everything from “Footloose” to “I had the time of my life” from Dirty Dancing to “Let the river run” from Working Girl. In the nineties we have the theme tune from “Beauty and the Beast” and “You’re sexy thing” from The Full Monty. In the new century we rock with Aerosmith’s “I don’t want to miss a thing” from the movie Armageddon and “Lady Marmalade” from Moulin Rouge.
