Good sports at Perdeberg

The members of Perdeberg Winery’s management team took on the reigning league champions, the cellar workers, and gave them a thoroughly good game, particularly as all 17 members of management took their turn on the field. The workers won 5-2. Curiously, the soccer game also signified a double win for the workers because the field on which they played their triumphant game is also where the cows graze which are owned by the cellar workers as part of a Perdeberg BEE initiative. The workers own and look after the cows and realise the profits from their sale. Perdeberg management plans to redeem itself when it challenges the league champions in the annual friendly soccer match at the end of the year.
