The Summer Symphony Season of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra opens tonight with a performance by the exciting young pianist Pallavi Mahidhara of Saint-Saëns’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The programme also includes Sibelius’s Second Symphony and Dvorák’s Carnival Overture. Other concerts are on 22 with Welsh cellist Thomas Carroll (22 January), the young local pianist John Ntsepe (29 January) and the award-winning Hungarian violinist Barnabás Kelemen and his equally talented wife Katalin Kokas (viola) on 5 February.
